Dr. Barnes Dr. Susan Orwick-Barnes was born in Ohio and lived in various states until her family settled in Memphis, TN. She graduated from high school in Germantown. Dr. Barnes completed her Undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee at Martin and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1981 from the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Memphis.

After graduation, Dr. Barnes and her husband moved to New York State. She was in private practice in the small town of Warwick, NY for eleven years.

In 1996, Dr. Barnes and her family returned to Tennessee and she acquired her current practice in Knoxville. She enjoys all phases of dentistry, especially esthetic procedures such as whitening, bonding, veneers, and crowns. Dr. Barnes loves to see your smile!

Dr. Barnes enjoys a practice that caters to patients of all ages. She welcomes children and adults into her practice.

Dr. Barnes is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Second District Dental Society, Southeastern Academy of Prosthetics, and East Tennessee Academy of Women Dentists. She is also a member of the American Association of University Women and the Farragut-West Knoxville Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Barnes is married and has two daughters, Jo Beth and Dani. Her husband, Booder, is an artist and a carpenter.

Dr. Barnes is an avid gardener and she loves to cook.
