As many of you know, I am a corporate sponsor for the Knoxville Race For the Cure for the 15th year in a row! Breast cancer touches the lives of so many people each year. I have not had breast cancer myself, but I have had family members and friends who have. As a result of their experiences, I have chosen to support Race For the Cure. The first race was started by a woman who lost a sister to breast cancer.

Perhaps the most exciting part of these races is that seventy-five percent of the funds generated in our Knoxville area will remain in our region. The remaining funds are used for research by the national Komen Foundation.

Our office is supporting this important cause by organizing a team of walkers (or runners if you are so inclined) to enter the event. We welcome any of our patients who want to join us on our team. All Barnes Bunch members will receive a t-shirt to wear race day with our team name on it. All participants will also receive a Race For the Cure t-shirt. All that we ask is that you find people to pledge donations to you for participating. At least $50 would be wonderful. This will be our fifteenth time being in the race as the Barnes Bunch. Again, we welcome any of our patients who want to join us on our team!
