Dear New Patients,

I am looking forward to meeting you. Since a visit to a new dentist can be unsettling to a patient, I thought it might ease your mind if you learned a little about me.

I attended high school in Memphis and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin. I completed my four years of dental school at the UT Medical Center in Memphis. I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in June of 1981.

Upon graduation my husband convinced me to move to New York State. I was in private practice for eleven years in the small town of Warwick, NY. Although we loved Warwick, we longed to return to our home state of Tennessee. We fell in love with Knoxville and relocated here in May of 1996. I acquired this dental practice in December of 1996.

On a personal note, I have two daughters, Jo Beth and Dani. My husband, Booder,
is an artist and carpenter. We all love UT Lady Vols Basketball and try to attend every home game. I also love to cook and bake.

I am lucky to have a wonderful staff, My receptionist, Jeanie, and my assistant, Lois, were with the practice when I acquired it. They were my bonus package! My hygienists, Debi and Pam, came to us highly recommended.

The staff and I attend several continuing education courses throughout the year in order to keep up with the latest procedures in dentistry. I enjoy all phases of dentistry. We especially enjoy doing esthetic dental procedures such as tooth whitening, bonding, facings and crowns. It gives us a special thrill to improve the quality of a smile.

I am comfortable working on children and enjoy having them, as well as their parents, as patients. As an office, we are conunitted to providing quality dental care while trying to make your visits with us as pleasant and stress-free as possible. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Sincerely,

Susan Orwick-Bames, DDS, PC
